Fischer, George (1 August 1875 - 16 January 1950)

George Fischer, 74, died Monday evening, January 16, 1950, at Owen. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 o’clock from the Georgas Funeral Home. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery, with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating.

Mr. Fischer was born August 1, 1875, to Michael and Malinda Shoop Fischer in the Town of Washburn. He received his education in the rural schools here. He worked as a farm hand.

He is survived by a son, Dewy Fischer of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs. Naomia Smith of Centralia, Wash.; and a sister, Mrs. Herschel Rodman of Waukegan, Ill.

Pallbearers were: Thomas Wren, Paul Hagedorn, Gust Holtz and Carl Kessler.

Out-of-town relatives attending the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Rodman and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Rodman, Waukegan, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Irving Fischer and Mrs. Jennie Fischer, Greenwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fischer and daughter, Spencer.
