Funeral services for James McGonigal, 93, a merchant in Loyal, were held on Friday from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal, with burial in the parish cemetery. He died on Tuesday at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital.

Mr. McGonigal was born in Canada and moved with his wife to Loyal in 1905, where he and Mr. Doyle operated the Doyle and McGonigal Hardware Store. After Mr. Doyle’s death Mr. McGonigal operated the store with his son, Frank. Mrs. McGonigal preceded him in death. His son is the only survivor.
