Davis, Frank L. (10 May 1867 - 15 February 1950)

Frank L. Davis, 82, died at his home at 240 West Fourth Street February 15, 1950.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday at the Bergemann Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Interment was made in the Windfall Cemetery at Granton.

Mr. Davis was born May 10, 1867 to Fred and Ruth Lee Davis at Granton. He spent his entire life in Clark County. Following his marriage to Katherine Harriman on March 30, 1892, he bought a farm at Heathville, where they lived for some time. Later they moved to the Davis homestead north of Granton, where they resided until Mrs. Davis’ death in 1932. At this time he moved to Neillsville, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was a member of the National Mutual Benefit Lodge and held the position of clerk on the Granton school board for many years.

He is survived by three children, Stella Davis and Mrs. George (Frances) Prochazka, both of Neillsville, and Harry Davis of Wausau, also one brother, Truman W. Davis of Granton.

Four brothers, Scott, Louis, Hale and Victor, one sister, Mrs. Nell Pietenpol and one daughter, Gladys, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were: Phelps Spry of Chili, Lloyd Spry, Ben Beeckler, Gus Bergemann, Walter Trimberger and Erhart Witte, all of Granton. Mary Ann Smith sang, accompanied by Mrs. Jess Scott at the piano. Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Janie Paulus, Mrs. Nina Bardell and Mrs. Wellen Hartson.

Out of town relatives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Don Gibcke, all of Wausau; Mrs. Hale Davis, Stanton Davis and Robert Davis of Bloomer; John Pietenpol and Ruth, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Davis, Eldred Davis, all of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Davis, Jack Davis of Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Gotter of Loyal; Ernest Lee of Chili; Fred May of Phillips, and Price Lee of Granton.
