Mitchell, Emma Amelia (31 July 1867 - 19 March 1950)

Emma Amelia Mitchell, 82, died at the home of her son in the Town of Levis on Sunday morning. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at 2 o’clock at the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Virgil Nulton officiated. Burial was made in the Town of Levis Cemetery.

Mrs. Mitchell was born July 31, 1867, at McGregor, Ia. She received her education in a rural school in Iowa. In 1902 she was married to Sherman Mitchell. Thy resided in Iowa until after Mr. Mitchell’s death in 1923, after which she made her home with her son, Sherman. Four years ago she moved here with her son and resided on a farm in the Town of Levis.

She is survived by one son, Sherman, Neillsville, two step-sons, Melvin Mitchell, La Grange, Ill., and Merrill Mitchell of Cresco, Ia.; also one brother, George Kurzrock of Manchester, Kansas; and 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
