Agnes Hermeling, 82, of Neillsville died Thursday, October 30, 2008, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Agnes Iva Mohr was born September 22, 1926, in Marshfield, the daughter of Christian and Mary (Gehrt) Mohr. She attended Silver Crest School (Town of Pine Valley) and graduated from Neillsville High School. After graduation, she moved to La Crosse to work for three years, then to Milwaukee for four years and later to St. Paul, MN, where she worked as a clerk for the Northern Pacific Railroad Company for 15 years.

Agnes was united in marriage to Leon A. Hermeling June 16, 1965, in St. Paul, MN. They moved to Wood River, IL, and Agnes worked for the Standard Oil Company for six years and as a clerk for the Wood River Hospital for 10 years. She moved back to Neillsville in 1998 after the death of her husband.

Agnes was a member of the Pine Valley Zion Lutheran Church.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leon, March 18, 1998; her parents; and two brothers Albert Mohr and Ernest Mohr.

Funeral services for Agnes were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the Pine Valley Zion Lutheran Church. Pastor Douglas Bjerke officiated. Music was provided by Virginia Karnitz organist. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Jeff Barth, Allen Mohr, Harvey Mohr, Kenneth Mohr, Marvin Mohr and Paul Mohr.

The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted Agnes family with funeral arrangements.
