Colby, Wis. - July 18, 1957

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Heise of South Milwaukee visited several days with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Guet.

Rev. and Mrs. V. O. Grosshuesch left on a trip to California where they will visit their children.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Elstrom of Bristol, former Colby citizens, spent the week-end here with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fischer and family spent several days in Milwaukee at the Kenneth Kasper home.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Gibson of Sac City, Ia., were recent guests at the Fred Somers home in the town of Unity, Wis.

Corp. Richard Wiersig of Fort Dix, N.J., is spending a 14-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Wiersig.

Mrs. Jack Abney and daughter of Junction City, Kan., visited last week with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kaiser.

A. M. Steinwand returned home from the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where he had been for a week receiving medical treatments.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Borchert and son of Des Moines, Ia., spent the past week with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Borchert.

Mrs. Cannon Foster of New York City spent the past two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Gustafson in the town of Brighton.

Mrs. Albert Wellnitz of Janesville and Mrs. Paul Wellnitz and Mrs. George Schwantes of Spencer visited Mrs. Anna Rienow one day last week.

Mrs. Ernst Mandel had the misfortune to fracture her hip when she fell at her home last Thursday night and was taken to the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital.

Art and Carl Bersch of Winneconne were stranded at North Crandon during a terrible hail storm while on their way to visit Colby relatives last Thursday.

William Koffarnus had the misfortune to break his elbow when he fell on the dance floor at Atwood Friday night. He was taken to the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital for treatment.

Mr. and Mrs. De Vere Primeau and daughter, Michele, returned to their home in Los Angeles, Calif., after spending two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Primeau.
