LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST

A good many Curtiss folks took in the Colby fair last Friday and Saturday.

Albert Kuehling and Jacob Johnson were Marshfield callers Monday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Tuttle of Marshfield, spent Sunday at the P. J. Lokken home.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rued and son of Interwald, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Matt Rued.

Mr. and Mrs. Cornel Erickson spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hanson at Vesper.

Miss Margaret Williams of Marshfield, spent a short time at her home her Saturday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nelson of Chili, and Mr. Ed Voss of Dorchester, had dinner Sunday with Theo. Domers’.

Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken and son and the Missed Hazel and Selma Knight were Marshfield callers Tuesday afternoon.

Arthur Joeger of Milwaukee, returned to his home Saturday, after spending a week with Ernest Stockmeyer and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Julson of Hollandale, and Miss Lillian Rohr of Dodgeville, visited Monday at the Theo. Domer home.

Mr. Henry Haugner and family of Portland, Oregon, called on old friends in the neighborhood of Curtiss Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jakel took their eldest daughter Elaine, to the hospital at Marshfield Sunday afternoon for medical treatment.

Mrs. H. Bailey and daughter Shirley Ann left for their home at Bell, California, last week after visiting several weeks with relatives here.

The Helping Hand Society will meet Friday afternoon, August 31st, at the home of Mrs. Albert Kuehling. All are cordially invited to attend.

OWEN-CURTISS CALF CLUB MAKES GOOD SHOWING

The Curtiss-Owen Calf Club made a good showing a the Colby Fair last Saturday. The following prizes were taken by members of the club.

MEDFORD AND CURTISS TEAMS TO CROSS BATS SUNDAY

Sunday, August 26th, the Medford and Curtiss base ball teams will again meet on the Curtiss base ball diamond.

There is more or less of a struggle on for first place in the Taylor county League with Medford now in first place and Curtiss and Stetsonville tied for second place, as per the sanding on August 19th.

Curtiss played at Hannibal the 19th and will play at Stetsonville on September 2. As you all know our battery as well as most of the players are home town men. Your attendance at the game Sunday will encourage the boys, so come along and give them a boost and cheer for a victory.

DANCE

Saturday evening, August 25th, there will be a Benefit Dance held at the Edward Hall, North of Curtiss, for Henry Bublitz, who has recently returned from the hospital at Chippewa where he spent three months following injury in an auto accident.
