Williams, Melford H. (6 August 1875 - 13 October 1970)

Funeral services for Melford H. Williams, 95, of Neillsville who died Tuesday were to be held today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Melvin Nickel of the United Methodist Church was to officiate. Burial was to be made in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.

Mr. Williams was born August 6, 1875, in Waupaca to Soloman and Mattie (Ammerson) Williams. He received his education in Waupaca County and moved to Dancy with his family at the age of eight, then moved to the Eau Plaine area and farmed there. He also worked in Chicago.

He married the late Ida Zimmerman in 1913 in Mercer. She died in 1922. He then married Ina Lawrence in 1930 in Neillsville. They farmed in the Town of York and came to Neillsville in 1950.

Survivors include: his wife; and six children, Mrs. Richard (Ardena) King, Earl and Chester Williams, all of Oak Creek; Orin of Neillsville; Mrs. Herbert (Dawn) Smith of Milwaukee; and Mrs. John (Darlene) Trogner of Stoughton; and 17 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Melford Williams, 95, who died October 13, were held last Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Melvin Nickel of the United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was made in Forest Hill Cemetery at Wisconsin Rapids.

Pallbearers were: Elroy Dahlke, Lawrence and Rodney Williams, Emmons Cronkhite, Dick Roth and Ted Zimmerman.
