Lisi, Dea M. (12 JUN 1948)

A lovely church wedding uniting Dea Marie Lisi, daughter of Ferdinand Lisi of Milwaukee and John V. Karaba, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vendell Karaba, Owen (Clark Co., Wis., was solemnized at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen at 9 o’clock Saturday morning, June 12, 1948. The Rt. Rev. Raymond Bornbach officiated at the nuptial mass.

Approaching the altar on the arm of her father who gave her in marriage, the bride was attractively gowned in a bridal gown of white brocaded silk net with a fitted bodice and a sweetheart neckline. It had long sleeves coming to a point at the wrists, entrained skirt, fingertip veil edged with lace and a beaded headdress. She carried a bouquet of white roses with white streamers. Attending her were Mrs. Eugene Karaba as bridesmaid and Shirley Smith and Matilda Karaba as maids of honor. All wore identical gowns of blue, pink and yellow respectively, of ninon with sheared bodices and fitted skirts with matching headdress and elbow length mitts. Each wore a single strand of pearls as gifts from the bride.

The groom and his attendants, Joseph Lisi as be man and groomsmen Eugene and Joseph Karaba wore navy blue business suits and white carnation boutonnieres.

A one o’clock dinner was served at the Woodland Hotel, after which a reception attended by 40 persons was given at the home of the groom’s parents. Mrs. Zeno Lisowitz, aunt of the groom, poured. Later that night a wedding dance was held at the Nightingale Ballroom.

The newlyweds are making their home in Milwaukee where the groom is employed.

Among the guests attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Leo Schill and daughter Judy, Mrs. Zeno Lisowitz, St. Cloud, Minn.; Ferdinand Lisi and son Joseph, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Karaba and daughter Darlene, Joseph and Matilda Karaba and Shirley Smith, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. John Robida and daughter Karen, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith and son Clifford, Mr. and Mrs. John Karaba and family and Mr. and Mrs. tony Pietrzen and sons of Owen.
