Booth, Elaine J. (27 MAY 1920 - 13 SEP 2013)

Elaine J. Booth, 93, Marshfield, passed away in her sleep on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Memorial services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Sept. 16, at Our Father’s House, Chili. Rev. Ron Johnson officiated. Graveside services were held at Yolo Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the church.

Elaine Joyce Todd was born on May 27, 1920, in Granton, to Bert and Edith (nee Sparks) Todd. She grew up and graduated in 1937 in Granton. She went to a 2-year teachers college at Wood County Normal. She taught grade school in 1-room country schools in the Chili area until her marriage to Wayne Booth, on Sept. 11, 1943, in Sherwood. He sadly passed away on Sept. 25, 2005. Elaine and Wayne farmed in
the Cumberland, Plainfield and Chili areas for 45 years before moving into Chili. After her husband passed away, she spent her last eight years in an apartment in Marshfield, living independently. She loved having family around her, and was happy to be caring for them. When she was younger she loved spending time in the garden and doing yard work. In her later years she enjoyed reading and watching videos and writing stories about her family life and spending time with her great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandson. She had strong Christian faith and loved doing things for her Lord.

She is survived by one daughter, Gayle (Bruce) Kemnitz; her grandchildren, Dwayne (Margaret) Booth, Danise (Steve) Taylor, Dan (Bobbie) Booth and Kathy Kemnitz; a grandson-in-law, Eric Licciardi; her great-grandchildren, Rick (Melissa) Pahl, Lisa (Karl) Krievins, Katie (Eric) Heiden, Elizabeth, Rebekah and Hannah Taylor, and Caleb and Gideon Smith; one great-great grandson, Mason Heiden; two sisters, Maxine (Lyle) Cattanach and Rebecca Mueller; three sisters-in–law, Mavis Todd, Ruthie Todd and Lucille Wood; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Booth; a son, Darryl Booth; a granddaughter, Kristy Licciardi; her parents, Bert and Edith Todd; a sister, Mildred, and brother-in-law, Lyle Cary; two brothers, Bob Todd and Russell Todd; a brother-in-law, Ed Mueller; and in-laws Lavern and Clifford Larson, Russell and Wilma Booth, Francis Wood and Silas Booth Jr.
