Bukovec, Gertrude A. (6 DEC 1922 - 11 SEP 2013)

Gertrude Bukovec, 90, Willard, died on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial followed in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.

Gertrude Angela Toplikar was born on Dec. 6, 1922, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Charles Paul and Frances Caroline (nee Marlovich) Toplikar. At the age of 9, she moved with her family to a farm in Olathe, Kan. Gertrude married Edward Bukovec on June 6, 1964, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Olathe, Kan. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Willard, where they farmed until her husband's death on Sept. 10, 1984. Gertrude remained on the farm until entering the Clark County Health Care Center in April 2009. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and loved her cats and being on the farm.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Della Toplikar, Olathe, Kan., and Vicki Krultz, Greenwood; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; one sister, Marguerite Marriot; and six brothers, Leo, Karl, Eddie, Frank, Ernest and Robert
Toplikar.
