Lentz, Dorothy (19 JUN 1948)

A lovely church wedding uniting Dorothy Lentz, daughter of Sigmund Lentz, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Edwin Bucholtz, son of Mrs. Wanda Lebbedies of Chicago,, was solemnized at St. Philippe’s Church in Chicago at four o’clock Saturday afternoon, June 19, 1948. The Rev. Armin Fleer officiated at the nuptial ceremony.

During the ceremony Mr. Kay Graves sang, "Oh, Promise Me," "The Lord’s Prayer," and "I Love Your Truly." Accompanying him at the organ was Mr. Stanley, Jr.

Approaching the altar on the arm of her father who gave her in marriage. The bride was attractively gowned in a bridal gown of white marquisette with fitted bodice and a sweetheart neckline. It had long sleeves, entrained skirt, and a long train veil edged with wide lace and a beaded headdress. She carried a bouquet of white roses. She wore a rhinestone pendant as a gift from the groom. Attending the bride was her sister, Adeline Lentz, as maid of honor, and Virginia Skirha, friend of the bride, as bridesmaid. Both wore identical gowns of pink and blue marquisette with sheared bodice and skirts. Each had a colonial style bouquet consisting mainly of red roses, with blue and white flowers and wore matching headpieces. Each wore a pendant and matching earrings, consisting of a small pearls as a gift from the bride.

The groom and his attendants, John Hardy, a friend of the groom as best man, and Otto Torno, cousin of the groom as groomsman, wore white tuxedos. The best man and groomsman had white carnation boutonnieres and the groom had a white rose as a boutonniere.

A reception was held at seven o’clock at Bruno’s Hall in Chicago. Dinner was served at 8:30 p.m., attended by 160 persons. After the reception a dance was held also at Bruno’s Hall. Music was furnished by Norman Pietras and his Melody Kings from Chicago.

Among the out of town guests attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Sigmund Lentz, Adeline Rhinehart, and Jenny Lentz of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. John Robida of Stetsonville; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Robida of Stetsonville; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Skirha and daughters of Riverside, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Tallarico and children of Oak Park, Ill.; and Julius Samek of Owen.
