Stasek, Mary J. #2 (6 JAN 1884 - 20 SEP 1948)

Friday morning at 9:30 a Requiem High Mass will be read from the Holy Rosary Church, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), for Mrs. John Stasek, who passed away at 4:05 p.m. Monday at S. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield.

Reading the Requiem Mass will be Father Raymond Bornback. Burial will be made in the Memorial Cemetery at Dorchester, Wis.

Pallbearers at the service will be Mike and Joe Kowalkewski, Joe Hiebsch, I. G. Nowak, Vendell Karaba and Steve Drinka.

Death came very suddenly to Mrs. Stasek who earlier Monday morning had been up and enjoying a visit with the neighbors when she was stricken with a stroke. She passed away shortly after being admitted to the hospital.

Mrs. John Stasek, nee Mary Julia Baranek, was born on Jan. 6, 1884 in Czechoslovakia. She came to America in 1902 and was united in marriage to John Stasek in 1904 in Chicago. The couple moved to Wisconsin in 1914, settled on a farm in the Town of Hoard. They resided on the farm until 1942, at which time they retired and moved to Owen, where she had ever since made her home.

Surviving her are her husband, John, three children, two daughters, Mrs. Mathilda Lapp and Mrs. Helen Johnson, and a son Emil of Athens, and nine grandchildren.
