Andrew, Leo J. (27 Jan. 1893 - 15 Feb. 1958)

Leo J. Andrew died at his home in the town of Colby Saturday, Feb. 15, at 5:00 P.M. after being ill since last October. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis., Rev. Hugo Diers officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Joe Schuster, Ed Becker, William Singstock, Louis Beyerl, Walter Schneider and Elroy Gutenberger.

Mr. Andrew was born in Johnsburg, Fond du Lac county, on January 27, 1893. He spent is boyhood in Edgar and Marshfield, and, on October 6, 1920, he married Cunigunda Seubert in Marathon City. They lived in Hixton for two years and then moved onto a farm in the town of Colby in 1923 which they operated until this time.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, Ralph of Town Hull and Leo at home; two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Helen) Deml of Oswego, Ill., and Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Hemmy of Juneau; 10 grand children; three sisters, Miss Catherine Andrew of Marshfield, Miss Anna Andrew of Marshfield and Mrs. Rudolph Steiner of Schofield; three brothers, Nick Andrew of Palm Springs, Calif., Peter Andrew of Hilbert and Louis Andrew of Chili. Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Andrew will be remembered a long time by his friends in this community for his fine Christian character, his friendly and congenial disposition and his keen interest in farm organizations which endeavored to improve farming and farm life.
