Wegner, Edward E. (1921 - 18 SEP 2013)

Edward Emil Wegner, Granton, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the age of 92.

Ed was born in Manitowoc County in 1921 and his parents moved to the town of Lynn in 1934. Ed married Leah Minor in 1944 and they took over the family farm. During their marriage they traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Leah died in 1985. Ed married Delores Hoffstatter in 1986. She died in 2010.

Ed was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church at Granton. He enjoyed time with his family and friends and polka music. Ed also enjoyed his farm, where he lived for almost 80 years.

Ed is survived by his children, Ronald (Linda) of Florida, Gary (Karen) of Baraboo, Diane of Oshkosh and Duane (Maryann) of Granton. He is also survived by his brother, Vernon (Laura Mae of Minneapolis and his sister, Bernice (Dale) Neumann of Marshfield and grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and a very special friend in his last few years, Edna Mae Rose.

Funeral Services for Ed will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton. Pastor Daniel Schoessow will officiate. Music will be provided by Caroline Helm, organist. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.
