Oleksiewicz, John (11 MAY 1859 - 11 MAY 1947)

Funeral services were held at the St. Hedwig’s Church on Wednesday morning for Peter Trybowski, 79, who passed away at his home on May 10, 1947, and John Oleksiewicz, 85, who died on May 11, 1947. Both were farmers in the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.) and resided within one-half mile of each other. The requiem masses were held at ten and nine o’clock with interment in the parish cemetery.

Funeral services were conducted for John Oleksiewicz, 88, by Father Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church at 9:00 o’clock Wednesday morning, May 14. Mr. Oleksiewicz, a retired farmer, passed away of cancer at his home in the town of Reseburg on May 11, 1947.

The deceased was born in Poland on May 11, 1859. He came to America in 1912 and located in the Thorp Community in 1921. He was united in marriage to Julia Wisniewski in Sept. 1912 at West Allis, Wis., where they resided for nine years.

He is survived by his wife, four stepsons, Joe, Henry and Alex Lisiecki of West Allis, and John of Thorp; three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Zurakowski, Mrs. Mary Borowski of Thorp, and Mrs. Caroline Butrym of West Allis.

Interment was made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Felix Lato, John Romanowicz, Karol Onisczuk, Peter Zukowski, Stanley Lasiuk and Charley Kutowski.
