Boie, June A. (11 MAY 1947)

The marriage of Miss June Adelle Boie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Boie of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Jack Larson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Larson, took place Sunday afternoon, May 11, 1947, at 4 o’clock at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanley.

The double ring ceremony was performed before an altar decorated with baskets of gladiolas and snapdragons and tall lighted tapers. Rev. J. N. Midtlien performed the ceremony.

The bride, given away by her father, was gowned in white lace and marquisette with a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of Johanna Hill roses. Miss Vangel Bobbe of Abbotsford was maid of honor in an orchid marquisette gown and Mrs. Robert Carr, Milwaukee, the bridesmaid, wore Nile green marquisette. They carried bouquets of yellow roses.

Dean Boie, brother of the bride, was best man, and Robert Carr, Milwaukee, was groomsman.

The bride’s mother and the groom’s mother were gowned in navy blue and each wore a pink rose corsage.

Mrs. Carol McGinnis, cousin of the bride, sang two solos, "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Because" during the ceremony with Miss Joan Sieger at the organ.

A dinner had been served at the bride’s home the previous evening and a reception was held in the church parlors following the ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Larson left for a trip through Minnesota and Iowa, after which they will be at home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The bride was graduated from the Stanley High School with the class of ’43. She attended the Milwaukee Beauty School and has been employed a the Arcade Beauty salon in Menomonie for the past three years. The groom was graduated from the Stanley High School with the class of ’43 and spent two and three-fourths years in service, 18 months of which were overseas. He is now in the employ of the Veterans’ Administration at Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
