Amdahl, Helen I. M. (24 MAY 1947)

Miss Helen Inga Marie Amdahl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ingvald Amdahl, became the bride of John G. Troz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Troz, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), at a candlelight ceremony performed at 7 p.m., May 24, 1947, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

The Rev. J. N. Midtlien officiated at the double ring ceremony and Miss Pauline Jacobson sang "I Love Your Truly" and "Oh Promise Me", accompanied by Mrs. Ruben Kalk at the organ.

The bride’s gown was of white satin with a long train veil arranged with a pearl headpiece. Her only jewelry was a gold cross given her by the groom. She carried a shower bouquet of white carnations and lilies of the valley.

Bridesmaids were Miss Carol Anderson, dressed in yellow marquisette, and Mrs. Gerald Berres, a sister of the bride, dressed in aqua marquisette. Each carried a bouquet of camellias with matching flowers for her hair.

Attending the groom were Robert Nerdrum and George Brown of Madison.

Lynette McCaffery, in a long white dotted Swiss gown, acted as flower girl, and Keith McCaffery served as ring bearer.

A reception was held in the church parlors following the ceremony, with 120 guests in attendance. A dinner was served to the bridal party.

The bride was graduated from the Stanley High School in 1941 and for the past five years has been cashier and bookkeeper at the Farmer’s Store in Stanley. The groom served three and one-half years in the ordnance branch of the Army and has been farming since his discharge.

After a short honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Troz plan to leave for California where they will make their home.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown, daughter Betty Jane, and son Edward, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Brown and son, Vernon, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Russell Nelson, all of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Amdahl, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Howard and Mrs. Mike Howard, all of Eau Claire.

Mrs. Troz was honored by several pre-nuptial showers, one May 13 given by neighbors of the Amdahl home, and one given by the Farmer’s Store employees at the home of Mrs. Lars B. Larson, May 21.
