Schade, Earnest (28 Feb. 1847 - 24 Feb. 1935)

Earnest Schade, a pioneer resident of the Town of Holton, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Schmendelmeier, Sunday at 6 o’clock ?, old age being the cause of his death. The deceased was born in Germany February 28, 1847. He came to America in the year 1881 and bought a piece of land in the Town of Holton in 1893 where by hard labor he cleared a fine farm. His wife died about 20 years ago. For the past few years he has made his home with his daughter at Park Falls.

Funeral services were on Thursday afternoon in the Lutheran church at Dorchester, the Rev. J. Brandt officiating with internment in the Dorchester cemetery.

He is survived by eight children, Mrs. Meta Simons, Berkley, Cal., Mrs. ? Empey, Waukesha, Emil Schade, ?, Richard and Bernard Schade, Town of Holton, Albert Schade, Red Wing, Minn., Mrs. Emil Wenzel, Washington, and Mrs. G. Schmendelmeier of Park Falls. Also 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
