Strebe, Delia (6 FEB 1889 - 30 SEP 1938)

MRS. GEORGE STREBE BURIED TUESDAY

Mrs. George Strebe, age 49, of Amherst, died Friday at 9:25 a. m. at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. J. Hart, 210 McCullach Street, Stevens Point. She went there to visit her sister and became ill. She had been in ill health for some time.

Mrs. Strebe, whose maiden name was Delia Moore, was born on Feb. 6, 1889, in Abbotsford, Wis. She spent her girlhood in Abbotsford where her marriage to Mr. Strebe took place on May 20, 1904. The couple lived here for a time after their marriage and then moved to Goodrich. They resided there for 26 years and went to Amherst about a year ago.

Surviving are her husband and eight children; Claude of Gig Harbor, Wash.; Earl of Goodrich; Emery of Colby; Mrs. Matt Brown of Athens; Doris of Los Angeles, Cal.; and Cecil, Joyce and Jennie at home; also four grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Lizzie Hart of Stevens Point; Joe Moore, Mrs. Chas. Brown, Mrs. Geo. Brown and Mrs. Abe Strebe of Abbotsford; John Moore of Everette, Wash.; Roy Moore of Port Edwards; Mrs. Ward Brown of Menominee, Mich.; Obed Moore of Blackwell, Wis.; and Mrs. Charles Hebert of Blair, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Strebe and at 2 o’clock from the Presbyterian church. The Rev. E. L. Hoover conducted the services. Mrs. Clara Davis, a long time friend of the deceased, sang "No Night There". She was accompanied by Miss Ruth Ingersoll, another friend of the deceased. Mrs. A. J. Folstad sang "One Sweet Solemn Thought."

Burial followed in the Abbotsford cemetery. The pallbearers were: Clyde Eldred and Robert Strebe, Earl McIntyre, Glenn Hebert, and Richard Brown, all nephews of Mrs. Strebe.

Those in charge of the floral offerings were: Miss Violet Cramer, Miss Leona Westphal, Miss Myrtle Goetz, Miss Frieda Westphal, Miss Vivian Moore, Mrs. Laura Golden and Mrs. Estell Damrau.
