Allmann, Lillie (1 May 1889 - 18 May 1958)

Mrs. Charles Allmann died unexpectedly Sunday morning at the age of 69 years, a heart attack being the cause of her death. She performed her usual duties as cook at the Colby Graded School Friday and did her shopping Saturday, and apparently was in good health. Her sudden death was a shock to her children here and all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Roger Knutson officiating, and internment was made in the Evergreen cemetery at Medford.

Mrs. Allmann, the former Lillie Draeger, was born on May 1, 1889, in North Platte, Neb., and married Charles Allmann on October 27, 1907, in Medford. After their marriage, they came to Colby where her husband operated a barber shop. He died in 1943. She was a member of the V.F.W. auxiliary and an active member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are five sons and three daughters, Lawrence and Edward of Colby, Lloyd of Stevens Point, Charles of Libertyville, Ill., Gerald of Wauconda, Ill., Mrs. Morris (Hazel) Morgan of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Thorwald (Loretta) Nelson of Marshfield and Mrs. Merle (Winona) Cosgrove of Mebourne, Iowa; two brothers, Paul Draeger of Colby and Lloyd Draeger of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. May Watson of Genoa City and Mrs. Grace Allmann of Medford; 24 grand children and four great grand children.

Mrs. Allmann had a wide circle of friends in Colby and vicinity who will always remember her for her kindly and friendly ways and a person, who, at all times, endeavored to perform her duties honestly and well.
