Gutenberger, Eldora (Marriage - 31 May 1958)

Miss Eldora Gutenberger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Gutenberger of Colby, became the bride of ? Schuster, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schuster in a ceremony performed in St. Mary’s Catholic church Saturday, May 31st, Fr. John Pinion officiating. Alma Schuster of Marshfield, a cousin of the groom, was maid of honor; Mary Primeau of Colby, a friend of the bride, was bridesmaid and Sharon Gutenberger of Colby, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Jack Miller of Milwaukee, a friend of the groom, as best man, and Ronald Weix of Abbotsford, cousin of the groom, as groomsman. Kathy Bender of Dorchester, a niece of the bride, was flower girl, and Gary Waldhardt of Stetsonville was ring bearer.

The bride was attired in a floor length gown of chantilly type lace over satin. The torso bodice featured a Sabrina neckline with long tapering sleeves. The full gathered skirt of nylon tulle had appliquéd flowers throughout the skirt. Her imported silk illusion veil cascaded to her finger tips from a crown of seed pearls and iridescent sequins. Her cascade bouquet consisted of red roses, white carnations and stephanotis.

The maid of honor wore a floor length aqua dress of floral nylon sheer. The draped neckline that flowed into a princess skirt embossed with floral design on a field of sheerest nylon. Her crown was of matching color. Her bouquet consisted of pink and white carnations and white pomps in a colonial style. The bridesmaids wore similar dresses only in pink. Their colonial style bouquets consisted of aqua and white carnations and white pomps.

The bride’s mother wore a black sheath dress with beige accessories with a corsage of red garnette roses and white carnations. The groom’s mother wore a gray two-piece dress with dark accessories and a corsage of red garnette roses and white carnations.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents which was decorated in pink, white and aqua streamers and white bells. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Kolby Park Pavilion. Guests were from Milwaukee, Marshfield, Colby, Dorchester, Abbotsford, Watertown, Madison, Marathon, Wisconsin Rapids, Greenwood and Stetsonville.

The couple left on a trip to Northern Wisconsin and Canada and will be at home, after June 7th, in Marshfield where the groom is employed by the Felker Motor Service.
