Riese, Herman Otto (5 June 1884 - 13 June 1958)

Herman Otto Riese, of the town of Hull, Unity, Route 1, died at his home Saturday, June 13, at 4:30 P.M. after an illness of four weeks. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Zion Lutheran church in Colby and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Forest Riese, Gordon Busche, Myron Busche, Robert Leisinger, Paul Schmitt and Joe Feckhelm. Soloist was Jean Tesmer.

Mr. Riese was born in Brodhead, Wis., on June 5th, 1884, thus reaching the age of 74 years and eight days. He married Sophia Busche at Beloit on February 26th, 1917. They came to the town of Hull in 1917 and engaged in farming.

Surviving are his wife; three children, Mrs. Raymond (Pearl) Beightol of Juda and Leonard and Charles Riese of Unity; one sister, Mrs. Ida Trupp of Oakland, Calif., one brother, August Riese of Brodhead; 11 grand children.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were August Riese, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Michaelis, Mrs. Agnes Schultz, Mrs. Ada Mavis, Miss June Mavis, Miss Marian Pinnow, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pinnow, all of Brodhead, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weimer of Rock City, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Otto Koepp of Davis, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beightol and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Siedschlag and Mrs. Anna Rises of Juda, Mr. and Mrs. George Hartwig, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Riese, Alvin Riese, Elmer Riese, Mrs. Alice Kressin of Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ponko, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Abitz, Mrs. Gusta Abitz, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hencke of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Galler, Mrs. Lavern Spurgin, Mrs. Minnie Jochsen of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Walker of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Clayton Hall and grand son of Jefferson, Fred Busche and family of Rhinelander, John Busche and family, Arnold, Lowie and Marie Heucke, Mr. and Mrs. William Heucke of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Mason of Athens.
