Colby, Wis. - July 24, 1958

Garry Schmidt, of the town of Colby underwent an operation for a rupture at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital.

Vernon Loos returned from his fishing trip to Canada which he made with friends from Prentice and Phillips.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wiersig, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kobs, Mrs. Art Wiersig and Connie visited at the Pete Anderson home at Eagle River Sunday.

Recruiter and Mrs. Frank Martin and family left for Key West, Flordia, after spending four weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hansen.

Mr. and Mrs. Joel E. Skoog of Abbotsford have moved into their new home in the first ward. Mr. Skoog is plant manager at the Streckert plant in Abbotsford, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Peters and daughter of Lebanon and Rev. and Mrs. Haas and son of Hewitt were dinner guests Monday at the Walter Wiersig home.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Dill of Milwaukee, Mrs. A. P. Jensen and Miss Alma Hansen of Medford were Sunday visitors at the John E. Anderson home.

A baby girl, Donna Lee, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Leon Konczak of South Milwaukee on June 27. Mrs. Konczak is the former Ethel Hasseldick of Colby, Wis.

After spending several days in Minneapolis, Minn., buying merchandise for the Zillmer store, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Strathman left on a trip to the west coast.

Rev. and Mrs. Wm. R. Christian and children, Janice and Joanne Tesmer and Dale and Danny Mellenthin are spending this week at Camp Luther, near Three Lakes.

Miss Doris Travnick of Madison, who had been visiting at the Pearl Vorland home with Miss Tillie Stelzl for several weeks, left for Athens to visit her sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wellnitz of Arpin, Mr. and Mrs. William Baker of Stetsonville and Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Tesmer and family were recent guests of Mrs. Anna Rienow.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pleschcourt of Dunda, Minn., spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Arvel Mengel at Owen and with Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Lindner in Colby, Wis. Mrs. Pleschcourt and Mrs. Mengel are sisters.
