Klaar, Walter Frederick (12 July 1888 - 12 July 1958)
Walter F. Klaar, a jewelry store operator in Colby and Abbotsford for many years prior to ill health forcing his retirement about a year ago, died Tuesday night in the Memorial Hospital in Wausau, at the age of 70 years, after being a patient there several months. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock in the First Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby and internment will be made at Thorp.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Frederick Klaar of Racine and Robert Klaar of Colby, Wis. and a daughter, Mrs. Ronald Radeztsky of Colby, Wis.
The body is at the Lulloff Funeral Home. Complete obituary will be published next week.

Funeral services for Walter Frederick Klaar, who died Tuesday night, July 12, after an illness of five months, following a stroke, were held last Friday afternoon in the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. Ralph D. Claybaugh officiating, and internment was made at Reseburg. Pall bearers were Otto Braun, Charles Schultz, George Kobs, Herman Schwantes, Frank Meyer, Paul Pokallus. Mrs. Donald Marshall sang "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied by Miss Rena Bauer at the organ.
Mr. Klaar was born in Little Black, Wis., on July 12, 1888, thus reaching the age of 70 years, and 24 days. He married Almeda Bobb at Waukegan, Ill., on September 4, 1926. They came to this locality 19 years ago. Mr. Klaar engaged in the watch repairing and jewelry business.
Mr. Klaar was well known for his conscientious performance of his duties, always honest in all his dealings, and, being of a congenial disposition, had many friends who will miss him.
Surviving are his wife; four children, Mrs. Ronald (Anne) Radeztksy of Colby, Frederic of Racine, Robert of Colby and Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Molzner of Park Falls, the latter being a daughter of a former wife who preceded Mr. Klaar in death; three grand children; three great grand children; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Byick of Kankakee, Ill., Mrs. Carrie Lemme and Mrs. Rose Kelly of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Margaret Kallas of Anaconda, Mont.; two brothers, William Klaar of Spokane, Wash., and Otto Klaar of Island Lake.
Out-of-town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Klaar and son of Racine, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Molzner of Park Falls, Mrs. William Timm and daughter of Butternut, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Byick of Kankakee, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Otto Klaar of Island Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lindau and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Habeck of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Marshall of Cadott, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bobb, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Bobb, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Asselin, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Marshall and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bobb, and family, all of Thorp, and Arthur McBain, Jr., of La Crosse.
