Schultz, Ernest F. (8 Aug. 1885 - 12 Aug. 1958)

Ernest F. Schultz of Colby, Wisconsin died at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Tuesday evening at 6:30 P.M. after an illness since July 3rd when he suffered a stroke. Funeral services will be held at the First Evangelical and Reformed church Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mr. Schultz was born in the town of Colby on August 8, 1885, thus reaching the age of 73 years and 11 days. He married Miss Selma Ida Witte on December 21, 1917, to which union three children were born, one of whom died in infancy. Mrs. Schultz also preceded him in death. On November 1, 1925, he married Mrs. Johanna Block at Winona, Minn. Mr. Schultz engaged in farming in the town of Colby until 14 years ago when he and Mrs. Schultz moved to the city of Colby, Wis.

Surviving are his second wife; two sons, Ervin and Art Schultz of Colby; two step sons, Harold Block of Colby and Norbert Block of La Moure, North Dak.; 14 grand children; one great grand child; one sister, Mrs. Conrad Dettmann of Colby, Wis.

The body is at the Lulloff Funeral Home.

Like all early citizens of this community, Mr. Schultz was of an industrious disposition, and, being of a friendly and kindly disposition, he still had many friends here who were sorry to hear of his death.

Funeral services for Ernest F. Schultz, whose death was reported last week, were held Friday afternoon in the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. Fred Kollath officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Marvin Schnabel sang "Jesus is Calling" and "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" accompanied by Rena Bauer on the organ. Pall bearers were John Reich, Lester Schaeffer, Roland Roth, Emil Horner, Herbert Lube and Riley Neuman.

People attending the funeral were from LaMowe, N.D., Owen, Unity, Abbotsford, Wausau, Riplinger and Colby, Wis.
