Lang, Pauline (8 Apr. 1874 - 31 Aug. 1935)

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Louis Catholic church, Dorchester, for Mrs. Joseph Lang, who died at her home there Saturday afternoon at 3:30. The Rev. Clement Haines officiated at the services. Internment was made at the Memorial cemetery.

Death was caused by heart trouble, with which Mrs. Lang suffered the past year. She had been receiving treatment at St. Joseph’s hospital at Marshfield, returning to her home here, Thursday. Mr. Lang, who went to Marshfield to bring her home, suffered a stroke while there and remained at the hospital, where he is in a critical condition.

Mrs. Lang, nee Pauline Schoeffle was born in Austria on April 8, 1874. When she was 12 years old her family came to the United States, settling at St. Paul where she resided five years, before moving the the Dorchester vicinity. On May 16, 1893, she was married to Joseph Lang at St. Louis Catholic church, Dorchester, Wis. The couple resided on a farm four miles northwest of Dorchester for two years and then moved to another farm in the vicinity, where they have since resided.

Surviving besides her husband are six children: Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Ottoson, Miss Anna Lang, and Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Schrant, all of Milwaukee; Frank and Mrs. Herman (Vera) Fritsche, both of Dorchester, and Mrs. John (Olive) Ludwig, Saskatchewan, Canada.There are 14 grandchildren.

Mrs. Lang was a member of St. Louis Catholic church and of the Christian Mothers Society.
