Carter, Fern (27 DEC 1947)

Taken from the Indianola, Iowa Record-Herald, Jan. 1, 1948. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Carter were former residents of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The marriage of Miss Fern Carter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn C. Carter of Perry, Iowa, to John Latta, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Latta of Indianola, took place Saturday, Dec. 27, 1947, at two p.m. at the home of the bride’s brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. and Mrs. Gene Carter. The Rev. Mr. Carter read the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a soft blue pinstripe suit with black accessories and her corsage was of deep red roses.

Miss Fern Demory was maid of honor and wore a gray suit with black accessories, and a corsage of deep pink roses.

William Miller was best man.

A reception was held following the service. Mrs. Gene Carter played the nuptial music.

Mrs. Latta is a senior at Simpson College. Mr. Latta is a junior at Simpson. He was in the service four years. They are at home at 410 W. Boston.
