Hoeser, Frieda E. (7 MAY 1914 - 9 DEC 2008)

Frieda E. "Fritz" Hoeser, 94, Loyal, died on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, in the emergency room at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A mass of Christian Burial was held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 12, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Jerome Hoeser and the Rev. Bernard McGardy co-celebrated the Mass. Burial followed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Hoeser, Mike Hoeser, Ron Hoeser, Bob Hoeser, Bob Russ, Mike Schmidt and Ron Schmidt.

Frieda Ernestine Putzel was born on May 7, 1914, in Greenwood, to John and Frances (Nee Bojc) Putzel. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Greenwood area, graduating from Greenwood High School as the class of 1931 area valedictorian. She married Joseph J. Hoeser on June 14, 1933, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. They farmed her husband’s family farm, in Heintown area, for 64 years. They moved into Loyal in 1997. Her husband died on Oct. 20, 1998. She continued to reside in Loyal until entering the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, on Feb. 17, 2007. She resided at the Health Care Center until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and its PCCW, where she was rosary leader for many years, was a member of the Starlite Homemakers, and had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, playing cards, crossword puzzles and bingo.

Survivors include her children, Clyde (Donna) Hoeser, Janesville, Fr. Jerome Hoeser, Eau Galle, Dennis (Gayl) Hoeser, Madison, Sandra Hoeser, Fort Worth, Texas, Thomas (Monica) Hoeser, Spokane, Wash., and Therese Hoeser, Loyal; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; two sisters, Eleanore Russ, East Helena, Mont., and Lucee Lanke, Fenton, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, JoAnn Hoeser, West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Joe; one son, Allan Hoeser, on Nov. 23, 2006; one step-granddaughter, Kassi Fabio; one sister, Bertha Holt; and one brother, L. Earle Putzel.

Her family asks that memorials be given in her name for a memorial to be established at a later date.
