Rasmussen, Charles (25 APR 1871 - 2 JUN 1948)

Charles Rasmussen, 77, who has resided in the city (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) for the past six years, passed away at the hospital at Chippewa Falls of the infirmities of old age on Wednesday, June 2nd, 1948.

Mr. Rasmussen was born in Stockholm, Denmark on April 25, 1871. At the age of sixteen years he came to this country and lived with an uncle in Illinois until his marriage to Miss Hattie H. Parkes on Feb. 24, 1893. In 1925 he and his wife moved to this community and became engaged in farming until the death of Mrs. Rasmussen in 1942.

He leaves to mourn, five cousins in Rochelle, Ill., and many friends in this community.

Funeral service were conducted by Rev. James Irish at the Thorp Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon at two o’clock and interment took place at the Riverside Cemetery near Black River. Pallbearers were Harry Quelle, Charles Myrin. Geo. Bahr, Frank Stigen, Gottlieb Isler and Anton Fischer.
