A very pretty wedding took place at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Chicago, at 2:30 in the afternoon, June 20th, 1948, when Alice daughter of Mr. John Zukowski of Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., and Frank, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cervenka of Chicago, were joined in matrimony.
The bride was attired in a gown of white satin, a long train with a fingertip veil and rhinestone crown, also pearl earrings to match her dress, and carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and lily of the valley.
Carol Cervenka, niece of the groom, wore a pink marquisette gown and carried a white lace pillow with rings.
Dorothy Zukowski, as bridesmaid, sister of the bride and Roy Gessler, as best man. Dorothy wore a gown of aqua marquisette net over aqua taffeta and a three-strand pearl necklace and pearl earrings, and an aqua headband to match. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses.
Wanda Nichols, girl friend of the bride, and Edward Wartolec were the second attending couple. Wanda also wore a gown of aqua taffeta and a 3 strand pearl necklace and pearl earrings, and an aqua blue headband. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses.
The pearls and earrings were gifts from the bride.
The groom and his attendants wore black suits with white jackets and white carnation boutonnieres.
After the ceremony a wedding reception was held at the Webster Hall in Chicago. They left for their honeymoon to the northwest part of Wisconsin.
Out of town guests at the wedding were: John Zukowski and Miss Dorothy Zukowski of Thorp, the rest were all from Chicago.
