Maricle, Esther M. (21 May 1916 - 18 December 2008)

Esther M. Maricle, 92, died while under hospice care Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008.

Esther was born May 21, 1916, in Neillsville to David and Meta (Klann) Seif. As a small child, her family moved to Montana. They returned to Neillsville after a few years because of the ill health of her mother. She attended Neillsville Public Schools. She married James M. Maricle April 14, 1936 in Neillsville. They farmed in the Thorp area for a few years before moving to Waukegan, IL, where they both worked for Abbott Pharmaceuticals for 25 years. After their retirement, they moved to Owatonna, MN, and built a new home. James died in August 1982. Esther continued to live in Owatonna until a few months ago when she moved to a nursing care facility in southern Wisconsin near her three sons. She entered hospice a few weeks prior to her death.

Esther loved traveling with her son, Bill, and Bonnie and going to casinos. She also loved embroidery and was an excellent baker.

She is survived by three sons, James (Carol) Maricle, Salem, William (Bonnie Rae) Maricle, Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Edward (Millie) Maricle, Zion, IL; her sister, Gladys Rychnovsky, Neillsville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, James.

Services were held Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
