Wojt, Rose Adeline #2 (29 August 1917 - 18 December 2008)
Rose A. Wojt, age 91, of Thorp, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 19, 2008, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp, with Rev. Keith Apfelbeck officiating. Burial followed at old St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery, also in Thorp. Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Rose Adeline Lubrant was born on August 29, 1917, in the Township of Withee, rural Clark County, WI, to Joseph and Catherine (Grabarkiewicz) Lubrant and received her education at area schools. Rose was united in marriage to Anton J. Wojt on August 19, 1944, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. They lived and farmed in the Town of Withee until 1974, when they moved to the City of Thorp. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed quilting, crocheting and cooking. She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its PCCW.
She is survived by three sons: Gerald J. (Patricia) Wojt of Gilman, Anton V. Wojt of Withee and David D. Wojt of Goldendale, WA; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anton, in 1995; one son, John, in infancy; four brothers: Charles Lubrant, Frank Lubrant, Harry Lubrant, and Joseph Lubrant; and five sisters: Martha Markowski, Anna Olejniczak, Emma Tyznik, Helen Faulk, and Josephine Ciolkosz.
