Drace, Shirley M. (19 NOV 1949)

Mr. Gilbert Asselin of Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Layton Asselin of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss Shirley Mae Drace, daughter of Mrs. Emma Drace, daughter of Mrs. Emma Drace of Stanley, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at the Methodist Parsonage at Thorp, in a ceremony performed by Rev. James Irish at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Nov. 19th, 1949.

The bride wore a gray suit for the occasion, with wine colored accessories and carried a wedding bouquet of white roses. The groom wore a green suit.

Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Orville Asselin of Eau Claire. Mrs. Asselin was dressed in a glin plaid suit with black accessories and carried a bouquet of yellow roses.

A wedding shower and dance was held in the evening at the American legion Hall at Thorp, which was attended by a large number of relatives and friends.

After a short honeymoon, the happy couple will make their home at Milwaukee, where the groom is employed.
