Romanowicz, John (2 FEB 1884 - 5 NOV 1949)

John Romanowicz, 66, died at his home in the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), on Nov. 5, 1949, of a heart ailment.

Mr. Romanowicz was born in Poland on Feb. 2, 1884. He came to America in the year 1890 and on Sept. 22, 1908, was united in marriage to Mary Jarocki at Thorp.

They resided at Chicago for several years and located on a farm near Thorp on Sept. 24, 1900.

He is survived by three sons, Joseph of Chicago, Edwin of Seattle, Wash., and Victor of Thorp; eight daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Stella) Nejam and Mrs. Joseph (Alice) Szramek of Chicago, Mrs. Roy (Bernice) Grajkowski, Mrs. Joe (Jean) Grajkowski, Mrs. Bernard (Marion) Klewicki, and Lucille, Lillian and Jo Ann of Thorp.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church of Thorp on Nov. 8 at ten a.m, Rev. Francis Piekarski officiated, assisted by Rev. Ernest Kaim and Rev. Jerome Kamla. Interment took place in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Onisczuk, Leo Sokolowski, Charles Gutowski, Walter Pajak, Peter Zukowski and Ed Klewicki.
