O’Neill, Ernest A. #2 (10 MAR 1877 - 5 OCT 1905)

Ernest Andrew O’Neill died at the home of his parents, Judge and Mrs. James O’Neill, in this city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.), Thursday, Oct. 5, 1905, of tuberculosis, aged 28 years, 6 months and 25 days. The funeral was held Monday, Rev. W. T. Hendren offering prayer and a few remarks and Prof. Paul Reinsch of the state university delivering an address. Masses of flowers were sent by members of the bar and other friends, and the services were very beautiful.

Ernest was born here March 10th, 1877, graduated from the high school in 1894, from the state university with the degree of bachelor of letters in 1899, and from the state law school in 1902.

He spent the first years after his graduation in Oregon. In December 1903 he went to Chicago and since that time has been conducting a correspondence school of stenographers as a branch of Scott, Foresman & Co., publishers. This was in conjunction with A. E. Kane, connected with the same house. He was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity of the Wis. Chapter. From 1893 to 1895 he was a militiaman in Co. A of this city.

He was taken sick on the 23rd of June; taken to the Lakeside Hospital July 27th; brought home to Neillsville August 29th.
