Schweiger, Louis (01 Dec 1873 – 22 Sept. 1966)

Louis Schweiger, 92, Loyal, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 22, at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.

Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal with the Rev. Norbert E. King officiating and burial was made in the parish cemetery. Myre Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

He was born December 1, 1983, at Jefferson, and as a young man came to Clark County and settled in the Globe area. His marriage to Mary Motchenbacher, who preceded him in death, aapril 25, 1955, took place October 17, 1898, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville.

After their marriage, they farmed in the Loyal area for a few years, and then moved to the city of Loyal. For the past several years, Mr. Sweiger had resided at the Memorial Home, Neillsville.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. George (Leona) Bentzler, Loyal; 14 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 children and 12 brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers were Kenneth, Raymond, George Jr., Jerome, Garland, and Donald Bentzler.

Attending th services were Mr. Raymond Bentzler, Hartford; George Bentzler, Jr., Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bentzler, Zion, Illinois; Jerome Bentzler, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs.John Grutzik, City Point; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Aumann, Brookfield; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lasch. And Mr. an Mrs. Math Bentzler, South Bend, Indiana.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schecklman, and Janet Bentzler, Marshfield; Mrs. Pauline Wenzel, Hartford; and Mrs. Hilda Ley, Chili; and many other relatives and friends from the Loyal area.
