Burton, Pearl (NOV 1906)

The following from the Green Bay Gazette will interest many Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) friends of the Burtons who formerly resided here:

"One of the prettiest home weddings of the season took place at high noon Thursday, at the home of Prof. and Mrs. A. W. Burton, when their daughter Miss Pearl, was united in marriage to Dr. O. C. Rather. Rev. R. K, Manaton of St. Paul M. E. Church performed the ceremony. Mendelssohn’s wedding march was played by Miss Grace Larsen, and the bridesmaid, Miss Francis Burton, entered the parlor, followed by the bride, leaning upon the arm of her father, they were met by the groom, accompanied by the best man, Frank E. Sensenbrenner of Neenah. The bride was beautifully gowned in a wedding costume of pompadour silk and with a Dresden figure and trimmed with point lace and carried a bunch of chrysanthemums. The groom wore the conventional black. The floral decorations throughout the house consisted of palms and ferns and huge bouquets of chrysanthemums and carnations. After the ceremony the newly wedded pair received the congratulations of the guests present, numbering about fifty intimate friends of both parties. A delicious wedding dinner was served, the table being adorned with smilax and bride’s roses. The bride is a very popular young lady of the west side and has been organist in the St. Paul Methodist Church. The groom is a rising young dentist and a favorite in social and business circles."
