NEILLSVILLE

Chas. Servaty is building another story on his house.

Mrs. T. H Barber of Withee is visiting here this week.

Wm Huntley was elected mayor on a small majority.

Nels Austreng is recovering from appendicitis.

John Max is laid up with a broken arm.

Dr. W. J. Brewster died Saturday afternoon, March 31, after a short illness. Funeral services were held at the armory, Rev. Longenecker preached the sermon. The remains were taken to Sparta for interment, Wednesday. Dr. Brewster was 1st Lieutenant in the Spanish-American war, and was promoted to Captain on his return. He had a good practice in dentistry, and was respected and loved by all.

W. C. Tufts was a caller from Withee Saturday.

Another funeral was held here Tuesday, being that of Andrew Ross, who died in Kansas City, Mo., April 1. Deceased was a brother of John Ross and Mrs. Thomas Garvin and until sixteen years ago was a resident of Pine Valley. A wife and three daughters, Sarah Margaret, Violet Maude and Forence Lucinda, are left to morn. The funeral occurred Wednesday from the Congregational church, Rev. W. G. Longenecker officiating.
