Apfelbeck, Genevieve Virginia (Marriage - 14 May 1960)
Miss Genevieve Virginia Apfelbeck of Colby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Apfelbeck, and Alvin Abegglen of Stetsonville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Abegglen, exchanged marriage vows in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Saturday morning. Rev. John Pinion officiated before an altar decorated with bouquets of pink carnations and white pompons. Sister M. Louis Ann was organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a ballerina-length gown of nylon net over taffeta. The lace bodice was trimmed with sequins and pearls and the skirt was decorated with appliqués of lace. Her fingertip-length veil was caught to a headpiece trimmed with seed pearls, sequins and rhinestones and she carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white carnations.
Miss Pearl Apfelbeck of Colby was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Virginia Apfelbeck of Whitewater and Mrs. Joseph Rindt of Stetsonville. They wore ballerina-length gowns of white nylon net and lace over aqua taffeta. Fitted bodices with bows and streamers at the waistline topped full skirts. They carried cascade bouquets of pink and white carnations.
Leo Apfelbeck, Jr., was best man and groomsmen were David Cook of River Falls and Joseph Rindt of Stetsonville. Donald Abegglen and Jerry Ule ushered.
A dinner was served at the school gymnasium for 100 guests, a reception was held at Cherokee Dance Hall and supper in the gymnasium was served 150 guests.
The bride attended Colby High School and the groom is a graduate of Medford High School. The couple will make their home in Stetsonville where Mr. Abegglen is a farmer.
