Beaver, John J. #2 (23 DEC 1915 - 4 JAN 2009)

John J. Beaver, 93, Loyal, died on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 10 a.m., at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, until time of services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Bernard Raschke will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery.

John J. Beaver was born on Dec. 23, 1915, in Loyal, to Michael and Alma (nee Bassett) Beaver. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Loyal area. After completing his education, he continued to help his father on the farm for several years. He then went to work for Tony Shober, working in a gravel pit near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His last employment was with the Loyal Cannery where he worked for nine years until retiring in 1977. He married Beverly J. Beaver on Oct. 4, 1978, in Neillsville. They resided in Loyal and enjoyed traveling. His wife passed away on Feb. 9, 2002. He continued to live in Loyal until entering the Neillsville Memorial Home.

Survivors include three stepdaughters; six stepsons; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; and three sisters, Dorothy Degenhardt, Louise "Tudi" Schmidt, and Catherine Bauer.
