Engelbretsen, Ronald #2 (1941 - 17 July 1960)

A 19-year-old rural Owen youth, Ronald Engelbretsen, drowned Sunday night while swimming with several companions in Chapman Lake at Chapman Park in Stanley.

Authorities were called shortly after 9:00 o’clock when a companion saw Engelbretsen’s body disappear beneath the surface not far from shore. The Stanley Fire Department brought a resuscitator to the scene but was unsuccessful in its efforts to revive the youth when his body was discovered and brought out of the lake about an hour later. The youth was taken to Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley where further efforts to revive him were without success.

Parents of the drowned youth are Mr. and Mrs. William Engelbretsen of Owen, Wisconsin, Route 1. Other survivors are two brothers, Garry, age 16, Bruce, 14; two sisters, Nancy, 15, and Gayle, 9, all at home; the paternal grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Engelbretsen of Owen and the maternal grand mother, Mrs. Eva Aerman of Sal *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
