Christofferson, A. M. Dr. (2 Nov. 1884 - 2 Aug. 1960)

Dr. A. M. Christofferson of Waupaca died of a coronary in Colby Tuesday morning at the age of 75 years while visiting at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Loos. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 o’clock in St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. John B. Pinion officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. The body is now reposing in the Lulloff Funeral Home.

Dr. Christofferson was born on November 2, 1884, in Lind Center, Waupaca county, and began practicing medicine in Colby in 1909. He was associated with his brother, the late Dr. H. H. Christofferson, until 1920 when he moved to Waupaca and began an independent practice.

He was married to Genevieve Heaney in Colby, Wisconsin on February 3rd, 1910, who survives him.

Other survivors are two sons, Dr. J. W. Christofferson of Mayville, Tenn., and Robert Christofferson of San Carlos, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Marion) Loos of Colby; and seven grand children.

Many of the older residents of Colby still remember Dr. Christofferson as a physician who practiced medicine here in the days before highways were plowed in the winter and never was too weary and never believed the weather was too inclement of stormy to answer a sick call. Being of a congenial and honest disposition, he was very popular while he lived in Colby, Wis.
