Stoughton, Harry (1868? - 18 Apr. 1940)

Word has been received of the death of Harry Stoughton, a pioneer resident in the Town of Holton, at a Detroit hospital, on April 18th. His death was caused by a stroke at the age of 72. Internment was made in Detroit.

Harry Stoughton came with his parents and only brother, Frank, from Oshkosh about 1874. His father was among the first to purchase land in the Town of Holton. His farm adjoined that of Alfred Swan, the father of Mrs. Emily Merwin, about three miles southeast of Dorchester, Wis.

After his marriage Mr. Stoughton lived in Abbotsford for some time and about 20 years ago moved away to Ramsay, near Bessemer, Michigan where he was an engineer in the mines. About ten years ago he moved to Detroit.

Frank Stoughton of Abbotsford, his brother, is his only surviving relative.
