Fahlgren, Phyllis (Marriage - 1950)

Before an altar banked with white gladiola, "mums" and lighted by candelabra, the Rev. Floyd Fahlgren officiated at the double ring ceremony at 4 o’clock in the Methodist Church in Ladysmith in which his daughter, Phyllis Fahlgren, became the bride of C. Phillip Burt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Burt of Ladysmith.

The bride who was given in marriage by her uncle, Rodney Fuller, wore a floor length slipper satin gown designed with a fitted bodice, lace yoke and full skirt. Her finger tip veil was edged with imported lace. She carried a bridal bouquet of white gladiola and mums.

Mary Fahlgren, sister of the bride acted as maid of honor and Marge Fuller, a cousin, was bridesmaid. They were gowned in orchid and aqua taffeta, respectively. They wore matching mitts and carried colonial bouquets.

Tom Burt and James Armstrong attended the groom. John Fahlgren and Lyle Fuller acted as ushers. After the ceremony a wedding reception was held in the church parlors, with the ladies of the church serving the 200 guests.

The bride was graduated from Neillsville High School and the groom from Ladysmith High School. He also attended Hamlin University. He is employed as a printer in Burt’s Print Shop. They will reside in Ladysmith following a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin.
