Mrs. Adolph Jackson was a guest Monday and Tuesday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Zilk, in Neillsville.

Mr and Mrs. Edwin Behrens of Lemont, Ill., are visiting at the homes of his brother and sister, Louis Behrens and Mrs. Adolph Jackson.

O. R. Thompson of Phoenix, Ariz., spent Saturday here with his sister, Mrs. Robert Stewart, and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Horvat and Mrs. Mary Klune visited their mother, Mrs. Johanna Horvat, in Neillsville Wednesday evening.

William Goeke was dismissed Monay from the Marshfield hospital and has returned to his home here.

Mr. and Mrs. William Jaeger and sons of Eau Claire helped her grandmother, Mrs. Helen Behrens; celebrate her birthday at her home Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Albert visited her brother, Calvin Franz, Sunday at the Marshfield hospital.

Guests Sunday at the Robert Stewart home were their children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stewart and sons, Robbie and Tommy, and Mr. and Ms. Richard Korn and son, Paul, all of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart of Stanley.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tolaney, Sr., Mrs. Mary Laken and Mrs. Mary Klune visited Mrs. Johanna Horvat in Neillsville Sunday.

Daniel Simonson volunteered and entered the army through the Milwaukee county service office. He left for Fort Campbell, Ky., February 10.

Mr. and Mrs. Hans Kolpanen of Milwaukee and Mrs. Daniel Simonson of West Allis, spent from Saturday until Monday at the Oscar Meinholdt home. They came to help celebrate the Silver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Meinholdt, parents of Mrs. Simonson.

The Adult Fellowship will meet Sunday evening in Zion United Church. Hostesses will be Mrs. Hazel Helwig and Mrs. Alice Perkins.

The Good Evening club meeting for February has been cancelled.

Mrs. William Kavanaugh entertained the afternoon bridge club Wednesday at her home.

The Canasta club met Friday evening at the Henry Vollrath home.

The Adult fellowship met Sunday evening in Immanuel United Church. In the absence of the president Clarence Meinhardt presided. Mrs. Pacificao Camarin led devotions. Following the meeting Mrs. Elvera Fravert showed several films on “Wisconsin”. A lunch was served by Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Toburen, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Toburen and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Timmler. The next meeting will be held March 7, with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Albert, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Braun and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Henaman as hosts.

The Women’s Society of Christian Service met Friday afternoon in Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Harold Dillenbeck presided. Mrs. Robert Clintsman and Mrs. Verlyn Sloniker will represent the group at the World Day of Prayer service to be held March 5 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Mrs. Edgar Opdyke read the “History of the Self Denial Program.” Mrs. Wilber Stewart read an article entitled “communion in outer-space.” A lunch was served by Mrs. Harold Dillenbeck and Mrs. Elery Moberg. The next meeting will be held March 12. Hostesses will be Mrs. Donald Decker and Mrs. Verlyn Sloniker. Mrs. Sloniker also will be in charge of the program.
