Capelle, Philip G. (20 September 1895 - 22 February 1971)

Funeral services for Philip G. Capelle, 75, of Loyal, who died at Memorial Home in Neillsville on February 22, were to be held this (Thursday) morning at 11 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. The Rev. William Humlie was to officiate, with burial to be in the Lutheran cemetery. The Roycraft Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Philip Capelle was born September 20, 1895, in Sheboygan County. He grew up and received his education there and served in the navy from 1918 to 1919. After leaving the service he worked on his brother’s farm. Following his December 22, 1921 marriage to the former Martha Blads, he farmed in Clark County until his retirement 10 years ago.

During his lifetime, Mr. Capelle was a member of the Dodgeville district school board, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and of its Brotherhood and served as the church financial secretary.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four children, Miss Ada Capelle, Calvin Capelle and Mrs. Bob (Dorothy) Herdrich, all of Eau Claire, and Delmer Capelle of Loyal; and eight grandchildren.
