Boon, Florence Louise (Marriage - 14 October 1950)

Miss Florence Louise Boon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Boon of Greenwood, became the bride of Frederick James Zais, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zais of Stanley, on Saturday, October 14.

The single ring ceremony was performed in St. Mary’s rectory in Neillsville with Father Zywrcki officiating.

The bride’s gown of white satin was designed with a fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline, long sleeves, and a full skirt that extended into a long train. Her finger tip veil fell from a beaded tiara. She carried a crescent shaped bridal bouquet of red roses and white pompons.

For her role as maid of honor Mary Gartner wore a fuchsia moiré taffeta gown and Mrs. Harry Rosenquist as bridesmaid chose an aqua moiré taffeta gown. They wore matching hats and mitts and carried crescent shaped bouquets of yellow chrysanthemums.

Clayton Boon, brother of the bride, served as best man and Harry Rosenquist acted as groomsman.

A wedding supper for sixty guests was held in one party room of the Merchants Hotel at six o’clock. The place was tastefully decorated with streamers, wedding bells and cut flowers. Supper was served by candlelight. Immediately following the reception the young couple left on a honeymoon in the western states.
