Magnuson, Tilla (14 July 1889 - 8 November 1950)

Mrs. William Magnuson, age 61, of Whitehall died at 3:30 a.m. on November 8, 1950 at the Community Hospital there after an illness of three weeks. Death was due to a cancer.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, November 11, at 2:00 o’clock at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. O. G. Birkeland officiating. Interment was made in the Lincoln Cemetery at Spring Valley.

Mrs. Magnuson, the former Tilla Sandvig was born on July 14, 1889 to Hans and Maret Sandvig at Spring Valley.

She was married to William Magnuson on October 1, 1909, at Spring Valley. They resided at St. Paul, Minn., for four years, at Pray for 20 years, Wisconsin Rapids for three years, and the past 14 years they lived at Whitehall. She had been affiliated with the Lutheran church since birth.

Four children were born to this union, all of whom survive: Mrs. Arthur (Myrtle) Lavigne of Chicago; Jerome of Blair; Reuben and Mrs. Wilbur (Jessie) Briggs of Whitehall. She is also survived by her husband, and the following brothers: Herman, Henry, Ole, Otto and Edwin Sandvig.

Her sisters, Mrs. J. E. (Gina) Magnuson, Mrs. Henry (Jessie) Thoreson, Mrs. Ingeborg Gavic, Mrs. Renee Hilstad and Mina Pauline all preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Oscar Olson, Isaac Melson, Severin Wevell, Paul Van Horn, Raymond Lamberson and Charles Briggs.

Bjorki, Shirley Magnuson, all of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Louie Magnuson of Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Wahlgren and son, Allen, of Lindstrom; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sandvig and son, Lowell, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Sandvig, Jr., of Spring Valley; Mrs. Arnold Geiger, Mrs. Douglas Werner, Mrs. Charles De Long of Elmwood; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Magnuson and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Magnuson, of Neillsville; Rev. and Mrs. T. E.
