Ralph E. Woik, 85, of Owen died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Clark County Health Care Center.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is assisting the family with arrangements.

OWEN -- Ralph E. Woik, 85, of Owen, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at the Clark County Health Care Center surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Owen on Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Further visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the First United Church of Christ in Colby, Wis.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Kenneth Dix will officiate. Burial will follow in North Green Grove Cemetery in the town of Colby, Wis. Serving as his pallbearers are Larry Herington, Mike Johnson, Luke Johnson, Brett Johnson, Elise Woik, Hanah Woik, Greg Woik, and Bill Flink. The Owen-Withee Lions Club will act as honorary pallbearers.

Ralph was born June 2, 1923, to Ernst and Iva (Winter) Woik in Owen. He graduated from Owen High School in 1941. He married Elsie Mueller June 14, 1947, in Abbotsford and together they farmed in the Owen area until 1977.

Ralph later worked at Tri-County Equipment in Withee as a parts manager. Ralph was very active in the community as he was the director of Clark Electric Co-op for 33 years, Central Co-op Shipping for seven years, Marathon-Clark Dairy Co-op 11 years, Harmony Co-op nine years, Production Credit Co-op 14 years, and Rural Housing Co-op for six years.

Ralph was further involved with the First United Church of Christ as a council member, Bee-Hive School Board, co-chairman for the Owen-Withee Building Committee in 1979, Owen-Withee Lions Club as well as a member of the Lions Golf Team.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie; and his children, Diane (Larry) Herington of Owen, Duane Woik of Portland, Ore., and Denis (Kris) Woik of Colby, Wis. He was the proud grandpa of Kari (Mike) Johnson of Fall Creek, Tina (Bill) Flink of Colby, Lara (Luke) Johnson of Fall Creek, Elise Woik and Hanah Woik of Colby, Shawn (Sabrina) Mykisen, of Germany, Jeramie (Amie) Mykisen, of Portland, Ore. He was also the great-grandpa of Brett and Breanne Johnson, Justine and Logan Flink, Kendra, Madisen and Larissa Johnson.

He is further survived by his sisters, Olga (Ken) Hoehn of Owen and Violet (Arlyn) Ebeling of Wausau; and his brother, Robert (Ellen) Woik of Mayville.
